Heating a reactor vessel
To get a temperature of more than 400°C in a reactor vessel, in the shortest time period possible, we designed a solution with heating collars.
The total power comes to 66kW at 3 x 400V.
The control box designed for this project, controls the heating collars using a PID control with 4 power solid state relays. The external setpoint is given by a PLC which controls the entire system. The feedback of the process temperature to the PLC is also provided.
The conduits which lead to and from the reactor were provided with tracing to maintain a temperature of 375 ° C.
